A STORM BREWING
Over the course of the last several months, a storm has been brewing among the competitors of World Women’s Wrestling. That storm has been centered around Mistress Belmont. On multiple occasions, gift-wrapped packages containing weapons have been delivered to ringside during Belmont’s matches and chaos has ensued. The only thing that has become clear during this time is that, in the eyes of Mistress Belmont, winning has taken a backseat to wreaking havoc on anyone in her way.
The first time a present was delivered to Belmont, it was Luscious Latasha, who hasn’t been seen since, who suffered the consequences. Belmont’s second special delivery, a pair of brass knuckles, were attempted to be used against Kasey Ray, who fortunately escaped injury that night. In the rematch between Belmont and Kasey, seen last week on New England Championship Wrestling and with the decree that no packages be delivered to ringside, a gift bag containing Belmont’s signature whip was hidden under the ring.
For those of you keeping score at home, Kasey Ray now holds two victories over Mistress Belmont via disqualification. Again, it seems as though Belmont doesn’t particularly care if she wins or losses, so long as she inflicts punishment on her opponent. Kasey, however, does care, and she’s not satisfied with winning by disqualification. She wants to prove that she can score a decisive victory over Belmont. Not to mention that she wants another piece of Belmont for the attempted weapon attacks.
This Saturday night when NECW makes its debut in Beverly at War on the NorthShore, Kasey Ray will be taking on Nikki Valentine. The interesting thing here is that, if you recall, back in April at Bouts For the Scouts, a package was delivered to Nikki during her match with the World Women’s Wrestling Champion, Alexxis Nevaeh. Nikki made it very clear that whether or not she was involved with Mistress Belmont was none of anyone’s business. On Saturday, it will be Kasey Ray’s business. Kasey will be clearly looking to send a message to Belmont, but she will need to be aware of any possible present-related shenanigans.
All of this still leads to one very important question. Who is responsible for these packages? On the occasions where gifts have been delivered to Mistress Belmont and Nikki Valentine, they at least appeared surprised by them, suggesting that someone was sending to them without their knowledge. The most recent incident with Belmont finding the bag stashed under the ring, however, suggests that she had prior knowledge and has some implicit involvement at this point. And let’s call a spade a spade, Belmont is just bonkers enough to have the gifts sent to herself, so it could just be her behind all of this. As of now, we don’t have the answer, but this Saturday night could potentially bring us closer to one.
