New England Champiopnship Wrestling proudly presents its first home video release in over 4 years, one of the greatest events in company history, the 2014 IRON 8 Championship.
The IRON 8 has been a New England wrestling tradition and one of the most unique tournament events in professional wrestling. It is an 8 man tournament with a unique twist. It consists of two rounds – an opening round where the 8 contestants are paired off into 4 one on one match ups. The 4 winners then square off in a 4 way, 45 minute Iron Man match. Whoever score the most pinfalls or submissions in 45 minutes is the winner and the 2014 IRON 8 Champion.
This year, due to a devestating knee injury to NECW Heavyweight Champion, Slyck Wagner Brown, the winner of the IRON 8 would also become the new NECW Heavyweight Champion.
The DVD is a special two disc set. Disc One contains the four opening round matches: Todo Loco vs. the returning “Sensational” Scott Levesque, Damien Wayne vs. DAWG Heavyweight Champion, Dirty Money, two time NECW Heavyweight Champion, Sean Burke facing Brad Hollister and former NECW Heavyweigfht Champion and 2009 IRON 8 Champion, Antonio “The Promise” Thomas facing 2CW star, Jay Freddie.
Disc Two containa a special bonus match, the only non-tournament match presneted that night, as it aired on NECW TV. It is a special “Champion’s Challenge” Mixed Tag Team Match pitting NECW Television Champion, “The Masshole” Mikle McCarthy & World Women’s Wrestling Champion, Mistress Belmont against “The One Man Thrill Ride” Jimmy Preston and Davienne. Disc Two also contains the dramatic IRON 8 Final – a 4 way 45 minute Iron Man Match, that will go down as one of the great battles in NECW History.
