New England Championship Wrestling returns to live action this Saturday night, May 14 at Carver High School, 60 South Meadow Road, Carver, MA with a 7 PM bell time for the 2nd annual FIGHT FOR ALEX, a benefit event for 4 1/2 year olf Alex Wawrzyniak, a child suffering from a form of brain cancer.
The night is topped by huge main event with the NECW Heavyweight Championship at stake, as champion “The Real Deal” Brandon Locke faces one of the greatest stars in NECW history – a 4 time former NECW Tag Team Champion and 2 time IRON 8 Tournament Champion, who is also the current Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards. Locke’s NECW title is the only championship at stake in this battle and it’s a prize that eluded Edwards in his past tenure with the promotion.
In addition, the World Women’s Wrestling Championship will be defended in a grudge match as champion Alexxis Neveah battles former champion Mistress Belmont. These two have not met since their epic encounter in a steel cage last August.
In other bouts, former two time NECW Heavyweight Champion, D.C. Dillinger battles the debuting Matt Taven. Chase Delmonte, a former NECW Tag Team Champion, returns to face the debuting Elia Markropolis. The enormous “Butcher” John Poe battles another big man in Apocalypse. Former NECW Tag Team Champions, The Crown Jewels (“Mr. Fabulous” Tony Ulysses and Darling Damon) will be in action. Plus the NECW debut of the 7 foot Giant Pharoah as he takes on two men in a handicap match.
All this plus the return of Pat “The Brat” Piper and Pat’s Pit, plus special guest host for the evening, Scorch – the host of Scorch’s PFG-TV (Friday night’s at 12:30 am on WMFP Ch 62 – Retro TV).
A raffle featuring many great items including autographed memorabilia and gift cerficates from local businesses will be taking place and more!
